Jacksonville Set to Host Exciting Golf Events Next Week!

Hey there, golf lovers! Get ready for an action-packed week as Jacksonville rolls out the green carpet for golf enthusiasts of all stripes. From past champions to rising stars, there’s something for everyone as the TPC Sawgrass gears up for the PGA Tour Q-School Presented by Korn Ferry. The best part? It’s completely free to catch the action at one of the premier golf venues in the nation!

What’s Happening?

Next week, some of the biggest names and newest talents in professional golf will converge at the TPC Sawgrass to compete for one of the five coveted Tour cards for the 2025 season. Talk about stakes, right? Players will tee off in two rounds at both Dye’s Valley and the Sawgrass Country Club, showcasing their skills and determination to secure their spot on the PGA Tour.

How to Join the Fun

Want to watch the tournament? It’s easy! Just remember that the rounds at Dye’s Valley are open to the public without any tickets needed. If you plan on visiting the Sawgrass Country Club, simply secure your spot by grabbing your tickets online — just head to am.ticketmaster.com/pgnt/buy/buy2024 and register. And don’t worry about parking because it’s free at designated lots across the TPC Sawgrass grounds!

A Star-Studded Lineup

This year’s lineup is nothing short of impressive! Fans can expect to see seasoned Tour veterans like Joseph Bramlett, Hayden Buckley, and Nick Watney alongside fresh talent from college golf programs. Among the up-and-coming stars are Sam Bennett from Texas A&M and Austin Greaser from North Carolina. You won’t want to miss out on seeing these competitors in action!

And that’s not all! More players will join the fray after the completion of the four second-stage qualifiers on December 6. Who knows who else might throw their hats in the ring?

Celebrating Local Talent

Miles Russell from Jacksonville Beach! In a nail-biting finish at the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, Miles captured the title with a stunning bogey-free 65, wrapping up his season in style. Not only did he triumph over some tough competition, but he also clinched his fourth AJGA title overall. It’s moments like these that shine a light on our local talent!

The St. Augustine Amateur

St. Augustine is buzzing with excitement as the 21st St. Augustine Amateur kicks off! With participants from six different countries, this 54-hole tournament is one to watch. Players from college programs all over the place, including the University of Florida and Jacksonville University, are gearing up to chase down victory. Plus, attending the tournament could earn players World Amateur Golf Ranking points — just another reason to cheer on these talented athletes!

A Great Cause

It’s heartwarming to know that the net proceeds from this tournament go towards the First Tee-North Florida. Since 2004, nearly $500,000 has been raised to support golfing programs for youth. So you can enjoy the action while contributing to the community!
