Jacksonville Transportation Authority Announces Holiday Hours
Jacksonville, Fla. — The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has revealed its hours of operation during the upcoming holiday season, aiming to accommodate both customers and employees. The holiday schedule will affect various services including bus routes, the Skyway, paratransit options, and customer service centers.
What Are the Holiday Schedules?
The JTA will run its Fixed Route and First Coast Flyer Buses on a Sunday schedule for key holiday dates. Passengers should note that on Wednesday, December 25th (Christmas Day) and Wednesday, January 1st (New Year’s Day), the bus service will not operate on regular weekdays, but rather follow Sunday hours.
The Skyway will see different operational times. It will run from 9 AM to 3 PM on December 23rd and 24th but will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Paratransit Services
For those requiring accessible transportation, Connexion Paratransit will maintain the same hours as the Fixed Route buses during the holidays, with reservations open on both December 25th and January 1st. In contrast, the Connexion Plus service has more limited hours, operating from 7 AM to 7 PM on both holidays, but with reservations closed.
Regional Transportation Services
In addition, regional services such as Express Select, Clay Community Transportation, and Nassau Transit will not operate on either holiday, remaining closed on both December 25th and January 1st.
Customer Support Hours
Customer service representatives will available from 8 AM to 2 PM on both holidays for inquiries and assistance. However, the JRTC Ticket Center will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, opening again on December 26th from 6 AM to 5 PM and maintaining the same hours on December 31st.
The Lost and Found department will also be temporarily closed on both holidays, which emphasizes the importance of keeping track of belongings while traveling during this busy time.
Why These Changes?
The adjustments in service hours reflect JTA’s commitment to serving the community while also considering the well-being of its employees during a season when many people are spending time with family and friends. This holiday schedule is designed to balance operational needs with public service.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and utilize available resources while traveling during the holiday season. It is advisable to check for the latest updates or any changes to the schedule that may arise as the dates approach.
For additional inquiries, customers can access the JTA’s channels and receive updates directly from their service team. With these adjustments clearly communicated, Jacksonville’s public transportation hopes to provide a reliable service throughout the holidays.
