Construction site for new AdventHealth facility in St. Johns County

News Summary

AdventHealth has made a significant move in St. Johns County by acquiring three parcels of land for $13.14 million. This purchase aims to enhance healthcare services in the area, as the organization plans to develop new facilities and emergency services, thus addressing the growing healthcare needs of the community. With AdventHealth’s extensive history in Florida, residents can expect improved access to high-quality healthcare.

AdventHealth Expands Reach in St. Johns County with New Property Purchase

In an exciting development for the residents of St. Johns County, AdventHealth has officially expanded its footprint by securing three parcels of land in the World Commerce Center for a price tag of 13.14 million dollars. This significant investment, finalized on February 5, marks a bold step into a growing community eager for expanded healthcare services.

A Perfect Location in the Heart of Development

Located just off the bustling Interstate 95 and World Golf Parkway, the World Commerce Center sits on nearly 1,000 acres ripe for various types of development. The area isn’t just about healthcare; it can also accommodate residential, office, retail, and even hotel developments. But with AdventHealth’s latest acquisition, it looks like the focus is squarely on enhancing healthcare access in this vibrant region.

The sale was managed by AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway Inc., and the properties were previously under the ownership of Steinemann & Co. Real Estate from Jacksonville. As residents of St. Johns eagerly anticipate the specifics, the exact acreage and location of the purchased parcels remain under wraps but are notably situated near Parkway Village shopping center and directly across from Tocai Creek High School. This makes it a strategically advantageous spot, especially as a Walmart Supercenter is also in the pipeline for this very area.

The Expanding AdventHealth Family

For those who may not be familiar, AdventHealth has its roots in Altamonte Springs and has been a stalwart in the healthcare industry since 1973. With a staggering revenue of 18 billion dollars in 2023 and facilities across nine states, it serves as the largest not-for-profit Protestant healthcare provider in the United States.

Within Florida, AdventHealth’s influence primarily spans Central Florida, reaching from Port Orange along the Atlantic coastline to North Pinellas on the Gulf and extending south to Sebring. AdventHealth operates a whopping 51 hospitals along with hundreds of care sites throughout the state, making it a significant player in the local healthcare system.

Plans for New Emergency Services

12-bed off-site emergency department in St. Johns County, showcasing its commitment to improve healthcare access in the area. Expected to break ground in 2025 and welcome its first patients by 2026, the facility will occupy a 10.75-acre site situated on north Florida 207. This location is conveniently positioned approximately 1.6 miles northeast of Interstate 95, effectively serving both residents and visitors.

Additionally, in an effort to bolster emergency medical services, AdventHealth recently purchased two vacant commercial lots totaling 11.04 acres for 5.7 million dollars. This initiative underlines the organization’s focus on enhancing access to emergency care alongside its ongoing expansion efforts.

Investing in Community Health

AdventHealth’s longstanding commitment to community health is clear. With over 20 years of presence in Flagler County and an investment exceeding 200 million dollars in healthcare infrastructure in 2023 alone, this expansion into St. Johns County is seen as a natural progression for the organization. Local leaders, including those from the St. Johns County Commission, have expressed their unwavering support for AdventHealth’s establishment in their community.

A Bright Future for St. Johns County

As AdventHealth continues to carve its niche in St. Johns County, residents can look forward to enhanced healthcare options and improved services. With the healthcare provider being recognized as a trusted resource throughout Florida, this expansion is not just a business move; it’s a genuine effort to foster a healthier community for everyone.

So as AdventHealth sets its sights on the future, residents can rest assured that excellent healthcare is just around the corner.
