Golfweek Unveils Exciting Rankings for Resort Golf Courses in 2025!

If you’re a golf enthusiast, get ready to tip your hats because Cape Cod National Golf Club is in the spotlight! The highly anticipated list of the Top 200 Best Resort Golf Courses for 2025 has just been announced, and our very own gem, Cape Cod National Golf Club, snagged an impressive rank of No. 74. How exciting is that?

A Closer Look at Cape Cod National Golf Club

Open its doors back in 1998, this stunning course has been a favorite among local golfers and visitors alike. What makes this ranking even more notable is the rigorous selection process utilized by Golfweek. Over 800 evaluators rate these golf courses based on a unique scoring system that considers ten specific criteria. Each course is rated on a 10-point scale, with Golfweek stating that achieving a perfect 10 is quite the challenge—there are no perfect scores on the list. In fact, only eight courses worldwide managed to muster an average rating above 9!

Now, if a course receives an average rating above 8, it’s considered extraordinary, and anything above 7 is deemed worth the trip. Although Cape Cod National received an average rating of 6.59, it still holds the title of the highest-rated golf course in New England—even with the competitive landscape of this beautiful region!

A Championship Course Fit for All

The layout at Cape Cod National is a Par 72 championship course that stretches over 6,900 yards from the back tees and 5,800 yards from the forward tees, making it accessible for golfers of various skill levels. Designed by the talented Brian Silva, this course has hosted numerous prestigious events, including competitions organized by the USGA and the Massachusetts Golf Association since the 2010s.

Upcoming Events: It’s All About the High School Invitational!

Mark your calendars, golf fans! The course is set to host the eighth annual high school invitational on September 22. This year, the competition will welcome teams, including Longmeadow and ten other top high school golf teams from the area. This exciting event is sure to be a thrilling showcase of young talent!

Last year, Xaverian made waves at the Cape Cod National Golf Club High School Invitational, clinching the championship for the first time with an impressive team score of 231. They finished five strokes ahead of St. John’s Prep, which posted a score of 236. Talk about a nail-biter!

The standout player for Xaverian was Quinn Dumas, who led with a score of 76 (4 over par). But let’s not overlook Will Spring from Concord-Carlisle, who took home the individual title with an even-par score of 72. Spring’s round was filled with excitement, boasting four birdies and 11 pars.

Mother Nature Throws a Curveball

And it wasn’t all smooth sailing at the event—players faced tough conditions with the wind whipping and heavy rainfall threatening to dampen the fun. Nevertheless, Spring demonstrated incredible resilience, rallying back after a double bogey to secure his win with a par on the final hole. Simply remarkable!

As the golf world buzzes about the rankings and successes at Cape Cod National Golf Club, one thing is for sure: this course is indeed a treasured destination for both seasoned golfers and newcomers alike!
