Jacksonville Welcomes New Entertainment Venue: Chipshot

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Get ready, Jacksonville! A fresh and exciting entertainment venue is set to land right in your backyard next fall. What’s brewing? It’s called Chipshot, and it promises to be a delightful mix of indoor pickleball, golf, and well, some awesome local craft beer! Sounds intriguing, right? Well, it’s happening, and here’s what we know!

Location, Location, Location!

Chipshot will be located at 13164 Atlantic Boulevard, a prime spot at the corner of Atlantic and Hodges Boulevards. This new hotspot will boast a whopping 30,000 square feet of fun! You’ll find eight pickleball courts, four high-tech golf simulators, and a whopping 25 televisions to catch all your favorite games. Can you say #FunCentral?

Craft Beer & Food Galore!

Our favorite local hangout, Strings Sports Brewery, is teaming up with pro golfer Thomas Walsh to make sure your thirst and hunger are well taken care of. The venue will feature a unique “beer wall” that lets you pour your own drinks, minimizing those long waits you usually dread during peak hours. Walsh has expressed how crucial this element is for their business model, stating, “When I go to a lot of these places, you pay for an hour, but by the time you order, you wait in line… you’ve gotten 30 minutes of entertainment.”

With Chipshot, they aim to flip the script and make sure you can squeeze every minute of fun out of your experience.

Goodbye Long Waits!

And it gets even better! The venue aims to cut down on wait times by incorporating QR codes that allow customers to order food directly to their tables. No more waiting around for a server! Less waiting means more time for you and your friends to enjoy everything Chipshot has to offer. Walsh believes that by hiring fewer waitstaff, they can keep prices affordable, so everyone can join in on the fun.

What’s the Damage?

Now, let’s talk about the cost. Renting a pickleball court will set you back between $30 to $40 per hour, depending on when you want to play. All things considered, this seems pretty reasonable for the fun-packed experience you can expect!

Building the Dream

Walsh, who has been working on this project for three years, says they plan to kick off the interior demolition of the existing building in February. With hopes of opening in fall 2025, it looks like the countdown to Chipshot has officially begun!

“We really had a difficult time, because these facilities are tough to get,” Walsh explained. The space has specific requirements, including the right ceiling heights and foundation layouts, making the search for an ideal location quite the challenge. But perseverance has paid off!

A Commitment to Jacksonville

Walsh reiterated that Chipshot isn’t just a one-off venture. He has his sights set on making a substantial investment in the Jacksonville entertainment scene. “We’re investing heavily in it. We made a long commitment to Jacksonville,” he said. Walsh hopes that everyone in the community will enjoy this new hot spot just as much as he and Adeeb will.

In conclusion, Jacksonville locals have a lot to look forward to with the arrival of Chipshot. So gather your friends, get your game on, and prepare to sip some refreshing brews while you play!
