Jacksonville will welcome a new dining destination when Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant opens its second location on December 9. The restaurant is situated at 10601 San Jose Blvd. within the Mandarin Landing shopping center, conveniently anchored by a Whole Foods Market.
The first Jacksonville Cooper’s Hawk opened in October 2015 at 4850 Big Island Drive in the St. Johns Town Center. Founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery, the company has its headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois. With this upcoming location, the restaurant chain aims to enhance its footprint in Florida, where it already boasts 14 restaurants statewide.
Cooper’s Hawk is a unique combination of a restaurant, artisan market, and a Napa-style tasting room. The new Jacksonville restaurant will have a menu featuring approximately 50 Cooper’s Hawk wines, carefully selected from vineyards in California, Oregon, Argentina, Australia, Chile, and Italy, as the company does not operate its own vineyard.
Guests can indulge in a variety of dining options that include lunch, brunch, happy hour, and dinner. The menu caters to diverse preferences with choices such as appetizers, soups, salads, pasta dishes, steaks, chops, seafood, chicken, and delectable dessesrts. Notably, menu items come with suggested wine pairings to enhance the dining experience.
The new restaurant can accommodate 300 guests inside and another 40 on its covered patio, making it a spacious spot for gatherings. For private occasions, there is a dedicated dining space that can seat 48. The overall size of the building is 10,725 square feet, and the construction was executed by Haley Construction Inc. of Daytona Beach, with a project cost of $4.5 million.
Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant will have extended hours to cater to different schedules. The establishment will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The varied hours provide flexibility for patrons wishing to enjoy meals and tastings at their convenience.
The expansion of Cooper’s Hawk in Jacksonville highlights its growth trajectory, with over 55 locations across 11 states. The brand has created a substantial community of wine enthusiasts with more than 360,000 members in its wine club. This new location is expected to not only provide a vibrant dining experience but also contribute positively to the local economy by creating jobs and drawing in residents and visitors alike.
