Jacksonville Beach Elementary School Named Top Elementary School in Florida

Jacksonville Beach Elementary School Achieves Top Rank in Florida

Jacksonville, FL — In a remarkable feat, Jacksonville Beach Elementary School has been recognized as the number one elementary school in Florida according to a recent ranking. This achievement underscores the school’s commitment to providing high-quality education to its student population of 626 children, encompassing grades K-5.

Impressive Academic Performance

As reported, the academic performance of students at Jacksonville Beach Elementary is nothing short of impressive. The school boasts a remarkable 100% proficiency rate in math, with all students scoring at or above the proficient level. In reading, 97% of students have also reached proficiency, indicating a strong literacy foundation among the young learners.

In comparison, schools within the Duval County Public Schools district reported significantly lower proficiency rates. Only 44% of students tested at or above the proficient level in reading, and 50% in math. Jacksonville Beach Elementary’s performance clearly distinguishes it from many peers not only in the county but across the state.

Diverse Student Body

The diversity of the student body at Jacksonville Beach Elementary School is notable as well. Of its students, 66% are from minority backgrounds, and the school serves a community that includes 9% economically disadvantaged students. This diversity reflects the school’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable educational opportunities.

Student-Teacher Ratio and Faculty Support

Adding to its accolades, Jacksonville Beach Elementary enjoys a favorable student-teacher ratio of 17:1. This ratio is better than the average found in the Duval County Public Schools district, allowing faculty members to give more individualized attention to each student. Currently, the school comprises 36 full-time teachers and a full-time school counselor who support the students’ academic and emotional needs.

Gender Balance and Community Impact

The school maintains a balanced gender population, with 50% of the students being female and 50% male, fostering an environment of equality. Rich Jones, a local community figure, has highlighted the school’s performance as a source of pride for Jacksonville. Jones has been actively involved in community service since joining local media in October 2006 and supports numerous causes that impact families within the city.

Looking Ahead

As Jacksonville Beach Elementary School celebrates this recognition, the focus will remain on maintaining and enhancing educational standards for its students. Administrators and educators are committed to building on this success and continuing to cultivate impressive academic outcomes.

This accomplishment not only highlights the school’s educational leadership but also sets a benchmark for other elementary schools statewide. The dedication of the faculty, combined with supportive community engagement, lays a strong foundation for future generations of learners at Jacksonville Beach Elementary.
