Jacksonville to Open New Boca Bargoons Store Featuring Decorative Fabrics and Potential Dining Options

Jacksonville Welcomes New Boca Bargoons Store

Jacksonville, Florida, is set to welcome a new interior decor store, Boca Bargoons, at the site of a former oyster bar. This exciting addition will occupy a substantial 8,164-square-foot space located at 9743 Old St. Augustine Road. The new store is expected to open its doors soon, with construction already underway, facilitated by a city permit issued on December 6.

Who is Behind the Expansion?

Boca Bargoons, a family-owned business that has flourished over the past 25 years, is making strides in expanding its presence in Northeast Florida. The company, headlined by COO Ross Simon, purchased the property for $1.275 million two years ago. This location will be their fifth store across Florida and Georgia, enhancing their established reputation for providing a wide selection of decorative fabrics.

What to Expect from the New Location

The forthcoming Boca Bargoons store will feature thousands of decorative fabrics, offering customers options for drapery, bedding, pillows, headboards, and upholstery. The architectural plan is designed by Jacksonville’s own Michael A. Byrd, ensuring that the space is functional and appealing for shoppers looking to enhance their home decor.

In addition to the retail space, Boca Bargoons has the opportunity to develop the remainder of the building, which was previously home to the Aw Shucks Oyster Bar & Arcade. The existing infrastructure includes a fully-equipped kitchen, allowing for the possibility of opening a fast-casual cafe or a ghost kitchen. This versatility will enable Boca Bargoons to explore various culinary options, catering to the needs of the community.

Details on the Property

The site spans 2.3 acres and boasts over 300 feet of frontage along Old St. Augustine Road. The outdoor area includes a spacious patio, enhancing the shopping experience. The property also provides ample parking with over 200 parking spaces, making it convenient for customers to access the store.

Future Plans and Community Impact

While plans for the second half of the space remain undecided, Simon indicated that the company is open to various possibilities. The large outdoor area could potentially serve as a venue for events or a relaxing space for shoppers, fostering community engagement.

Conclusion

As construction progresses, anticipation builds for the opening of the Boca Bargoons store in Jacksonville. With its extensive selection of fabrics and potential new dining options, the store aims to become a go-to destination for both local residents and visitors. The addition of Boca Bargoons not only diversifies retail options in the area but also highlights Jacksonville’s evolving marketplace.
