Jacksonville, FL – The Villages of Hope is on the brink of completing a crucial fundraising effort aimed at aiding women seeking recovery from trafficking, addiction, and exploitation. The organization is just $150,000 short of achieving a $500,000 matching challenge grant from the Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Fund. This mark is a significant step toward establishing a secure and supportive community.
The total budget for this capital construction project is $2.4 million, and it is fully permitted and prepared for initiation. To date, Villages of Hope has successfully raised over $1.3 million. Since August 2024, when the challenge grant was received, the organization has made strides in its fundraising efforts, raising $450,000 thus far. This recent influx of funds has propelled them closer to their $600,000 target.
“We are so close to reaching this goal, and we’re calling on the community to help us make this vision a reality,” stated Co-Founder Donna Fenchel. She emphasized the importance of this grant, which would provide a life-changing, safe space for survivors of trafficking. The organization is encouraging community involvement to help reach this final fundraising milestone.
To facilitate donations during the holiday season, Villages of Hope has introduced a text-to-donate campaign. Supporters can text “BuildWithUs” to 44834 to make a contribution that will be matched, streamlining the donation process. “Every dollar counts toward reaching our $150,000 goal,” Fenchel added. This initiative aims to provide an effortless way for the public to contribute and impact the lives of women within the community.
Alongside the text-to-donate option, individuals can make online donations through the organization’s official website at villagesofhope.org. The team at Villages of Hope is urging everyone to consider even a small contribution to help achieve their final goal. Fenchel reiterated the importance of community support during this critical phase of fundraising.
Villages of Hope is dedicated to providing support to women overcoming debilitating challenges like trafficking and addiction. The goal is to create a sustainable and nurturing environment where women can heal and rebuild their lives. With the proposed construction nearing completion, Villages of Hope’s vision underscores their commitment to community wellbeing.
The initiative faces a pivotal moment as the deadline for fundraising looms nearer. Underlining the urgency of community involvement, Fenchel expressed hope that with collective efforts, they can surpass the necessary funds and fulfill their mission for women in Jacksonville seeking a fresh start.
As the Villages of Hope approaches the home stretch of their matching challenge grant, community participation is essential. By rallying behind this cause, Jacksonville residents can play a vital role in transforming the lives of vulnerable women, ultimately fostering a more supportive and compassionate community.
