Jacksonville, Florida, is set to gain a new travel option as Delta Air Lines introduces daily nonstop flights to Austin, Texas. This new service is scheduled to commence on May 7, marking a significant development for passengers seeking to travel between these two cities. The announcement comes from the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, which highlighted the benefits of this new route in a recent news release.
According to the details provided, flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will depart at 8:55 a.m., arriving in Jacksonville around 12:35 p.m.. Conversely, flights departing from Jacksonville will leave at 1:15 p.m. and reach Austin at approximately 3:00 p.m. Delta Air Lines will utilize a 76-seat Embraer E175 aircraft for this route, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for all passengers.
This new nonstop service will make Delta the only airline offering direct flights between Jacksonville and Austin, effectively filling a gap left by prior airlines. Notably, American Airlines and Frontier Airlines had previously operated nonstop flights to Austin but no longer do so.
