This fast-casual eatery, known for its mouth-watering ButterBurgers and creamy frozen custard, is officially on the way, with the city having issued a building permit just a few days ago on April 8.

A Big Investment in the Community

The project, which has an estimated cost of $1.8 million, is being spearheaded by Campbell Construction JC Inc. hailing from Mukwonago, Wisconsin. This company is rolling up its sleeves to bring that uniquely delicious Culver’s experience closer to local residents. Before the building permit, a site-clearing permit was issued on March 18, valued at $850,000. This shows a strong commitment to not just opening a restaurant but establishing a lasting community hub.

What to Expect at the New Culver’s

Covering a generous 4,276 square feet on a 1.68-acre site, the restaurant is situated right near the bustling intersection of Hyatt Road and Max Leggett Parkway, just a stone’s throw from the popular River City Marketplace. Good News for Fans of Culver’s

The new restaurant is being developed by Barbaresco Group LLC, who is already well-versed in running Culver’s locations. They also manage the Regency Area Culver’s, giving them the experience and expertise needed for success. The property itself was obtained by the Barbaresco Group for nearly $1.4 million on December 17, 2024.

A Growing Family of Culver’s Locations

The Barbaresco Group is part of a larger network that includes The Brunello Group LLC and The Barolo Group LLC. The Barolo Group has already been making waves in the area with its Culver’s at 101 Monument Road, which opened its doors in 2022. Collectively, franchisees operate at least seven Culver’s locations across Northeast Florida, including four within Jacksonville itself, as well as spots in Yulee, Middleburg, and St. Johns.

Culver’s first made its debut in our region back in July 2019 in Middleburg, and since then, it has rapidly expanded its presence, with ongoing developments at new locations such as 4768 Hodges Blvd. in Jacksonville, and 2620 Stratton Blvd. in St. Augustine. The delicious spread of the chain, which started back in 1984 in Wisconsin, has now blossomed to include more than 100 locations statewide!
