New Regional Distribution Center Launches in Hialeah Gardens, Aimed at Enhancing Service in South Florida

New Distribution Center Opens in Hialeah Gardens, Florida

Hialeah Gardens, Florida – World Electric, a subsidiary of Sonepar, announced the opening of its new regional distribution center (RDC) located at 10701 NW 142nd St. on Wednesday. This facility, which spans 266,000 square feet, is designed to serve a diverse customer base, including residential, commercial, and industrial clients across south Florida.

State-of-the-Art Features

The Hialeah Gardens RDC boasts several advanced features aimed at improving efficiency and service speed. These include climate control, automated lighting controls, and the future implementation of Locus robots for automated picking, set to begin in early 2025. According to Tammy Livers, president of World Electric, the facility is a reflection of their commitment to adapt to the increasingly complex needs of their customers.

Specialty Services Offered

Along with its extensive inventory, the new distribution center will provide specialty services such as kitting, prefabrication, and logistics management through a service known as Pro Logistic Services. These offerings aim to provide tailored solutions for customers requiring more than just standard product supply.

Strategic Importance in South Florida

The new distribution center plays a pivotal role in World Electric’s regional distribution strategy. The facility is set to enhance service across multiple branches in south Florida, managing the supply chain more effectively. “Our regional distribution strategy and continuous improvement mindset are key pillars to providing that best-in-class customer experience,” Livers stated.

Expansion Timeline

World Electric has been steadily growing in Florida, having opened two branches in Gainesville and Winter Haven in the past two years. They also acquired Electric Supply of Tampa in 2023 and Advance Electric in 2022 as part of their expansion efforts. The Hialeah Gardens RDC is now an essential component of their operations in the region.

Future Prospects

With the planned integration of robotics for enhanced picking, the distribution center is poised to improve delivery times significantly. This forward-thinking approach aligns with the company’s goal to respond to the evolving demands of the market.

Management and Operations

The new facility is managed by Rodrigo Aguilar, who emphasized the importance of agility in meeting customer expectations. “Our customers’ needs are growing increasingly complex. They need an agile distributor partner that can expertly manage projects,” Aguilar explained.

Conclusion

World Electric’s new Hialeah Gardens RDC stands out as a landmark development in south Florida’s distribution landscape. By combining cutting-edge technology, specialty services, and a strategic vision, this facility will not only serve local customers but will also set a new standard for distribution efficiency in the region.
