In a jaw-dropping display of skill and resilience, Ollie Schniederjans emerged victorious at the USD 2 million International Series India held at the DLF Golf and Country Club, just outside of the bustling city of Delhi. This triumph marks a noteworthy comeback for Schniederjans, who clinched his **second** professional win after a hiatus of almost nine years, following his victory on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2016.
Schniederjans wrapped up the tournament with an impressive finishing score of 10-under 278, turning in rounds of 71, 69, 69, and 69. What makes this victory even more thrilling is that he managed to overcome a three-shot deficit with only four holes left in his third round, showcasing extraordinary talent and determination.
The final leaderboard revealed Schniederjans finishing four shots clear of the renowned golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who also made a commendable effort, and with a solid eight-shot lead over well-known players like Joaquin Niemann and Abraham Ancer. Each round displayed Schniederjans’ mastery on the course and his ability to stay calm under pressure.
Audience members and fellow competitors were inspired by Schniederjans’s remarkable journey back to the golf circuit. After undergoing hip replacement surgeries on both hips throughout 2022, Schniederjans faced significant hurdles that almost ended his professional golfing career. He battled through injuries and even lost his PGA Tour card, but his passion for the sport ignited a spark of determination that led him to reclaim his form. After stepping back into competitive golf in March 2023, he secured several top-25 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour, setting the stage for his return to glory.
His entry to the International Series India was made possible after participating in the LIV Golf Promotions event in December 2024, further highlighting the pathways available for aspiring and returning golfers alike.
The tournament wasn’t without its challenges. Fog delays made the event all the more suspenseful as players had to complete their third round and immediately begin the final round. Despite these unexpected hurdles, Schniederjans continued to shine on the golf course, executing an impressive birdie chip-in on the 13th hole during the final round.
While DeChambeau could not fully catch up with Schniederjans, he finished strong with a remarkable seven-under-par round of 65, reflecting the competitive thrill of each player involved. This duel on the greens attracted attention from golf fans and experts alike, all eager to witness this exciting chapter in professional golf.
The tournament wasn’t just about the established professionals. It also marked a significant moment for young talent in India, with 15-year-old amateur Kartik Singh making headlines as the youngest Indian
