The day was filled with exciting moments, and the performances of the young athletes had everyone on the edge of their seats. In the girls’ matchup, the Mandarin Mustangs showcased their skills, decisively defeating the Atlantic Coast Stingrays with a staggering score of 20-4. The standout player, Isla Avant, left a lasting impression, earning the title of Player of the Game.

The boys’ tournament wasn’t shy of action either, as the Bolles Bulldogs, ranked 7th, faced off against 15th-ranked Lake Highland Prep. The Bulldogs emerged victorious with a score of 13-2, and Will Martell shone bright, taking home the Player of the Game honors. The excitement continued as the Oceanside boys dominated their match against Riverside, winning 15-2. Charlie Funk was recognized as the standout performer in that contest, adding to the day’s thrilling highlights.

The girls’ game also brought excitement, as Lake Mary outshined the Bolles girls with a score of 17-4, with Mikala Thomas earning accolades as the Player of the Game.

The excitement of the high school lacrosse season is far from over, with over two months left on the calendar. One notable event on Monday night saw Episcopal pull off a stunning comeback, overcoming a three-goal deficit to defeat Bartram Trail with a final score of 13-12. This victory solidified their perfect start at 6-0 this season, following their earlier triumph against Creekside with a dominating 15-1 victory.

Looking ahead, Episcopal faces a few significant challenges, including upcoming matches against the likes of Vero Beach, Jensen Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens Benjamin from March 6-8. Bartram Trail will also be gearing up for important contests against Bishop Moore and American Heritage.

Upcoming Matches at the Rivalry on the River

Mark your calendars! The next installment of the Rivalry on the River is set for March 28, featuring some exciting matchups scheduled at the Bolles School. The girls will see the Atlantic Coast take on the Mandarin Mustangs at 2 p.m., followed by a robust boys’ contest between Riverside and Oceanside at 4 p.m.. Finally, Bolles will go head-to-head with Lake Highland Prep boys at 6 p.m., and the girls’ teams will clash at 8 p.m. with Bolles facing Lake Mary.

The following day, March 29, promises even more action with an exciting lineup, including the Beachside boys challenging Pensacola Catholic at 10 a.m., and the Bolles squad taking on Hayes (Ohio) in both varsity and junior varsity at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.. Other notable matches include Episcopal versus Gainesville Oak Hall boys at 4 p.m., and Bolles battling Oak Hall girls at 6 p.m., while things wrap up with a thrilling face-off between Gulf Breeze and Ocala Trinity Catholic at 8 p.m..
